The end means a new beginning

Well it is official. My summer is now over...tomorrow I am contracted to Independence. I am spending the last night of my summer watching the Olympics and wishing I only had a few more days. I am sad that my summer is over. No more sleeping in, no more all day laziness, no more staying up late or doing nothing. I am now back to being a working woman.

But as much as I hate the end of summer, I love the feeling of possibilities. Each year I get a new batch of kids that I am hopefully able to make a difference in their lives. I am excited to have this new beginning. To get to know new kids, teach them things, influence their lives, and a chance to continue to improve my craft.

So as sad as I am that my summer is gone, I am looking forward to a new beginning for myself and a group of 21 new third graders.
