Today

So I braved the weather to be a good "worker-outer" today. I actually just wanted this really cute shirt and told myself if I could go to Target in the bad weather, then I could drive to the next parking lot and go to the gym!!!

Well as I spent almost 40 minutes making it from school to the gym (normally a nice relaxing 10 minute drive.) I spent lots of time spinning my tires, sliding to one side, pumping my brakes, feeling my heart race...only to continually repeat the process. Well as I slid into the parking lot and into my parking space... I am sure I was a little crooked..sorry fellow 24 hourers.

So I finally make it in and am expecting a nice relaxing workout. I start out in the changing room to a not so pleasant experience. Why on earth do old ladies feel the need to strip down completely and then sit on the benches and pause until they are ready to put their clothes on... and come on you know you can't help but glance a few times--it is the train wreck syndrome. I can think of many more pleasant sights I would rather end my stressful drive with, like maggots in my trash.

So on to step 2, the elliptical. First I forgot to bring my earphones for my ipod and of course who do I end up next to .... like him being drippy, sweaty guy isn't enough... no, now he is drippy, sweaty, singing guy. I really just want to go and do my thing...not be serenaded. And he doesn't seem to even realize he is singing. He will be perfectly quiet for a few minutes, expect for the periodic plops from his sweat beads dripping. And then wallah, break into song not even realizing he is distracting me. Come on, if he was working out harder he wouldn't be able to sing,,,but then he might create a small tide pool next to the elliptical.

So I think I have learned my lesson...if I have to slide my way to the gym, it is not worth it....but the shirt I got was really cute...that was totally worth it.
