I am so glad that today was my last day of school. Bless my little school children, but sometimes they just need soooo much and there is not always enough me to go around. So I am really wondering about breaks. Because, every time it is time for a long break (whether it be Thanksgiving or a conferences) I am in desperate need, and I mean desperate.Every time I find myself beginning to get short with the kids or burnt out on instruction, it seems like there is a nice little break to rejuvenate me.
Now I am wondering, do I feel this stress and burnout because I know that a "break" is coming and I am anxiously awaiting it. Or did they get a group of teacher researchers together and see exactly how long teachers could spend with their children without going crazy and then decide to plug a little break in here or there so teachers would not call in on a random Monday and quit.
Either way (and yes I am sure our government would spend money on a study like that) I am so glad that I have a nice break coming up. Spending a little time with the fam, time with my Ian, and of course with my friends should make my break complete.

I don't really know the answer to your question, but Charlotte is sitting next to me and looking at your slideshow. She is naming everyone in it. Cawa, Inin, Chalete, Sammy, Nana, Nese, doggy, and who's that? Funny.
