Summer, Here I come!!

So I know most of my other teacher friends have had the privilege of summer, but mine just started. I made the mistake ( I know, I know Ian that it is paying for the wedding) of teaching summer school. For those of you who don't know, the devil himself actually invented summer school to torture teachers. He decided to pay well to entice them, but make it a all around horrible experience with noisy kids who never listen.

Well, anyway, I made it through my 12 days with the little devils children and now I have some much needed ME time. What are my plans you ask ( I know you were thinking it)... well spend some time @ the pool, continue with my tennis lessons, get my closets and jewelry organized, take photographs, continue blogging, sleep in, read lots of books, and like most crazy teachers I will probably do some planning for the upcoming school year. Teachers are suckers for that kind of thing. Well, I am so glad to be done and have a few weeks of sanity and summer. If anyone is bored I will be happy to entertain you :)

Weekend Snippets

First I would like to apologize for the late post. I am sure you were all waiting patiently :) As you will see later, Ian and I went to a concert Sunday night and I did not get home until after midnight. Those of you who know me realize the importance I place on sleep, thus the reason I didn't upload my photos until today.

This weekend was a very busy one. Friday I went out with the school girls to celebrate Courtney's 25th birthday. I really miss all these ladies when I don't get to see them daily. We had a great time and it made me look even more forward to my summer (1 more day).

Saturday I helped Allison shoot a wedding. I love photography, but in no way am a "professional", so needless to say I was very very nervous. But, I ended up having a great time. The bride was beautiful and the weather was amazing. A rooftop view of the city and free Boulevard beer at the reception wrapped things up nicely. I really enjoyed this opportunity and later this week I will post some of the pictures I took. I feel fairly good about my first time.

Sunday was yard work day. Then a small nap and to the amazing Roger Clyne concert. He did four songs and the rest were all requests. AMAZING. I had a busy, productive, and fun weekend. Hope yours was all you wanted.

The amazing Roger Clyne

Even Killy thought it was too hot to work in the yard.

Love this bumper sticker :)

All these amazing flowers keep blooming in my yard...Keep bringing it!

I love Chinese food and Costco!!

                                                          The best colleagues ever!

They are climbing the wall...I guess this is what my Nana meant when she would say "You kids are driving me up the wall"

She loved her framed TJ picture... he is her obsession!!! She likes 'em old.

Weekend Snippets

This weekend was a busy one where I got a chance to enjoy the great outdoors. Friday Ian and I went for a bike ride on the Longview Lake Trail. If you haven't been there it is very peaceful and nice ride. We stopped halfway and had ourselves a nice little romantic picnic which included cheese. fruit, crackers, and of course some yummy wine. Let me tell you...it was my first experience being slightly tipsy while driving a bike. After our bike ride we enjoyed some chillaxed time by the lake.

We tried so hard to get a photo and didn't work      so well

Saturday morning I helped my best friend and most amazing photographer set up for her first art show. Her booth looked amazing and I am so proud of all of her hard work and her determination to follow her dreams. And for having such a positive attitude even though the storms made a small river through the middle of her tent. We followed that up with a birthday lunch for Ian's brother and a housewarming BBQ for the Holmes.

I am so proud of her!! My wonderful guy!!

Sunday was a domesticated day... laundry, cleaning, and groceries. I was feeling a bit under the weather so the afternoon storms monsoons were great for napping. And my wonderful Ian fixed dinner for me!! I am lucky to have such a great guy. Hope your weekend was wonderful too!!!

This weekend was boring relaxing. I didn't do much. Friday went out after work for a few beverages, Saturday we went to a wedding, Sunday helped out my mom, and Monday (nice holiday weekend) I stayed home until we grilled later in the evening. I have had some busy weekends lately but it was nice to get in a few naps and read a few books. Hope you had a relaxing long weekend also!

Etsy Finds

So Etsy is my new favorite place to shop. I decided to do a search for Kansas City (since that is where I live) to see what I came up with. Here are my 5 favorites:

An adorable bird necklace from WoodandGlass. Wouldn't this be cute with a plain white t-shirt and some jeans?

I love photography and photos by eringarrisondesign kept coming up. I love so many of them that I in no way could choose a favorite. I love seeing kansas city sites in a different perspective. AMAZING work!

I love gray...something about the color makes me feel comfortable. I am in search of a new school bag...maybe this will be it.

Not something I like, but it did make me laugh. A Royals G-string...really? really? Maybe Ian will get one for the next holiday. And don't worry even though this is for males, there is some for you ladies out there.

I am loving this turquoise necklace from hippy girl !! I can't pass up this color!
